Meet Ziyaad
“I started the skate school in 2019 to help the local children and young adults learn new skills and regain a sense of community.
I am originally from the area and know first-hand how much a supportive, helping hand can mean to those who need it. My own experience with the sport is that skateboarding doesn’t care about race, wealth, or culture; if you are on a skateboard, you are part of a family and culture from all walks of life, all over the world.
Skateboarding brings unity. Through my experience of this unity, I learned from my mentors that there is much more opportunity in life than what I can see in my own small world. My goal with my skate school is to not only teach skateboarding and life skills, but to open up the minds of my students to see that in unity there is strength, and with the right mindset, anything is possible.”
